Print Management
Print Management can mean different things to different people. We define it as a service that helps you ensure that you define what you need to be printed and why, and then makes sure that you procure it at the best possible price, and then wherever possible or appropriate measure the effectiveness of it.
Much transactional and marketing communication can take place without a need to print anything and it is important that nothing is printed for the sake of it. Print, however, engages in a way that electronic media cannot. Many years after the invention of the E- reader, 83% of books are still read in a printed format. These days the door mat is less crowded than the Email of the Inbox and people are reading printed direct mail pieces.
At 21st Century Print, we will work with you to help you define your communication strategy and how to deliver it—what should be printed? What is better handled electronically? What internal printing resource can/ should be used? We will ensure that the print you need is ordered in sensible quantities and in a way to minimise the cost of the quality needed. We will work with you to find ways of defining objectively its effectiveness.
We can help even small businesses be great at communicating in print and electronically at the lowest price to meet the objectives.
Print Consultancy
If a client company wants to take any element of a print management service in-house, we can help them achieve that effectively and at reasonable cost. We can also offer consultancy on print projects where costs need to be reduced or quality improved or getting it to the right place at the right time needs attention.
Document Audits
A document audit is often the way to start a print management project. It is an examination of what documents a client organisation produces for their own use and to communicate with their clients, prospects, and stake-holders. Very often, even in quite small companies, the responsibility will be spread over several departments and there will be orphan documents—where nobody seems to be responsible for their use.
We look at how the information flows and the documents themselves. We can then advise on how to reduce costs and improve the effectiveness. We normally expect to show savings of at least twenty percent.
Web to Print
We offer clients the ability to order any documents that can be templated a facility to order on-line. For example, to order business cards by adding a name and contact details or to order a news- letter or a leaflet where a template can be used. Please contact us for a demonstration.
Print Supply
We supply any print for any purpose with or without a print management service. Please see our list of products here. We offer project management on larger print jobs, including press passing. (checking the job when it is being printed and signing it off)
Storage and Pick and Pack
We store products and pick them and despatch them against an order for many clients. Despatch in most cases is same day.
Fulfilment
A speciality is same day posting of shareholder and creditor communication. Provide us with a print file and up to 1000 addresses to send to, by lunch time and they will go out the same day. We can provide make-up of folders and assembly of complex mailings too. As with our printed products, we use our own facilities when this is the most economical method or we out-source to trusted partners.
Graphic Design
We work with graphic design agencies and freelancers to provide our clients with industry leading graphic design. Our policy of outsourcing this is for two reasons—many of our clients are graphic design agencies, and our policy means that we are not competing with our clients. Additionally, we are able to assign the right designer to the right project, and that helps us assure quality. Studio bottlenecks are also rare even during the busiest periods.
Artwork
When print jobs do not require graphic design—there is an existing job that needs amendment for example, this is carried out quickly and efficiently and often is free of charge. Another example is a catalogue, where a design template has already been produced. Setting that catalogue will be quick and easy and we define that as artwork, charged at a lower rate than graphic design.
Copywriting
The content of a printed piece is just as important as the design. We will write copy for you and it is our objective to understand your business well enough to be able to suggest the subject for the copy. As with the rest of our services though, we are very happy to receive your copy too. Copywriting is an in-house service for 21st Century Print.
Print and Digital Marketing Integration
In this, the last part of the second decade of the twenty first century , we believe that organisations who are able to make their printed communication really enhance their digital marketing (and vice versa) will be big winners. Print is real. It engages in a way that the virtual world cannot. We can help you get this right. Our approach is not to advise you to print but to advise on how you can be effective and engage your audience.
